The Sirloin House
Trading the bustle of Alamance County for a genuine Southern meal is easier than you think. In about 45 minutes, you'll be here, ready for a plate of comfort.
If you're coming our way from Burlington, maybe after catching a game or visiting family at Elon, you know that drive up NC-87. It's a nice stretch of road, and we've heard from many folks that it’s a trip they make often. They tell us there's just something about a meal at The Sirloin House that feels like coming home. Maybe it's the hand-cut steaks, sizzling off the flat top, or the way our peach cobbler tastes just like Grandma's (if Grandma started baking at 4 AM). We don't fuss with fancy here, just good food made with care. It's the kind of place where you can relax, fill your belly, and remember why folks in North Carolina appreciate a good, honest meal. So, what exactly makes the drive worthwhile?
The kitchen, midweek

When you walk through our doors, you'll feel that genuine Southern warmth right away. Our dining room is set up with comfy booths and tables, always bustling with folks chatting and enjoying their meals. The air often smells of fresh coffee, sizzling steaks, and whatever deliciousness Joanna's cooked up for the buffet that day. In the mornings, you'll see regulars catching up over breakfast plates, and at lunch, the buffet line hums with activity. It’s a lively spot, but never too loud – just the comfortable murmur of good food and good company. We keep things clean and friendly, the kind of place where everyone feels at ease.

Making your way from Burlington to Eden is a straight shot, mainly along NC-87 North. You'll head out of town, maybe passing some of the old textile mills that give Burlington its character, and then it's a pleasant drive through the countryside. When you get closer to Eden, you'll cross the Dan River, a pretty landmark letting you know you're almost there. Our restaurant is right on S Van Buren Rd, easy to spot. Most folks from Burlington tend to come for our lunch buffet, arriving around noon, but if you're looking for a quieter breakfast, the crowd thins out after 9:30 AM on weekdays. Just keep an eye out for our sign — we're right there, ready to welcome you.
Considering the 45-minute drive from Burlington, planning your visit can make all the difference. Our breakfast buffet runs Sunday-Friday from 7-11 AM and Saturday from 7 AM-1 PM. If you're coming for lunch, our daily buffet is available Sunday-Friday from 11 AM-3 PM. We don't offer a dinner buffet, but our full menu is available evenings. For a quieter meal, try coming after the main lunch rush, maybe around 1:30 PM. Parking is always free in our lot, and we happily welcome walk-ins for smaller tables. If you're bringing a larger group (say, eight or more folks), it’s always a good idea to call ahead so we can make sure to have a spot ready for y'all.
While you're here in Eden, there's more to see than just our plates! We're nestled right where the Smith River meets the Dan River, offering beautiful spots like Freedom Park for a stroll or a picnic. Eden itself has a rich history, formed from the mill towns of Leaksville, Spray, and Draper back in '67. You can still see glimpses of that historic mill town character, especially around the old mill villages. It's a nice change of pace from Burlington's busy spots. So, if you've got a little extra time after your meal, stretch your legs, explore a bit, and see a different side of Rockingham County.
