The Sirloin House
It's a quick 45-minute hop up US-29 from Greensboro to Eden, NC, where you'll find our family's Southern cooking waiting for you.
From over near UNCG or after a game at the Greensboro Coliseum, a lot of folks make the easy drive up US-29 to see us. It’s a straight shot, and before you know it, you're here in Eden. We hear it all the time: "Y'all have the best fried chicken!" or "Can't get a steak like this anywhere else." We're not fancy, but we cook good, honest food, the way we've been doing it since 2001. We cut our steaks by hand, bake our cobblers before the sun comes up, and keep the coffee hot. Whether you're craving some of our famous Sirloin Tips, a heaping plate from our daily lunch buffet, or just want a taste of a real Southern diner, we've got a spot for you. Come on up and see why so many of your Greensboro neighbors make the trip.
The kitchen, midweek

When you walk into The Sirloin House, it feels like coming home. You'll hear the friendly chatter of neighbors, the clinking of plates, and the sizzle from the kitchen. Our dining room is comfortable, with plenty of booths and tables. In the mornings, you might see folks catching up over coffee and our breakfast buffet. At lunch, the line for the buffet moves steady, with folks eyeing up the daily specials. It's a place where families gather, friends meet, and everyone feels welcome, just like a good Southern diner should be.

Most folks from Greensboro who come for lunch aim to get here around noon for our buffet, but if you're looking for breakfast and want to miss the early crowd, things usually thin out by 9:30 AM. It’s a pleasant drive, mostly highway, so you can relax and enjoy the ride.

Making the drive up from Greensboro means you're already in Eden, and there's a little more to see if you've got the time. Eden sits right where the Smith River meets the Dan River, so there are some pretty spots for a walk at Freedom Park or a little fishing. Our town has a rich history, formed by the merger of Leaksville, Spray, and Draper, and you can still feel that old mill town character. Take a drive around to see some of the historic textile mills or just enjoy the quieter pace. It’s a nice change of scenery after your meal, perfect for making a half-day trip out of your visit.
