The Sirloin House
Just a short 18-minute drive from Madison, you'll find The Sirloin House in Eden, where classic Southern cooking and friendly faces are waiting for you.
Hey Madison neighbors! Some of y'all might remember Johnny's first place just up the road in Mayodan back in '99, before he opened The Sirloin House here in Eden. It means a lot to us that folks from the Madison-Mayodan area still make the quick trip out here. Maybe you’re coming from the Madison-Mayodan Library, or just finished a walk by the Mayo River, and you're looking for a real meal, something that reminds you of home. Folks tell us they come for our Hand-Cut Steaks, cooked just right on the flat top, or maybe for a heaping plate from our daily Lunch Buffet that changes every single day. We're not far, and we reckon it's worth the quick hop over to Eden for some genuine Southern cooking. Come on in, we've got a seat for you.
The kitchen, midweek

When you walk through our doors, you’ll find a warm, inviting space. The smell of fresh cooking always hangs in the air – maybe a hint of bacon from breakfast or simmering pot roast from lunch. We've got plenty of comfortable booths and tables, perfect for a quiet meal or a lively family gathering. You'll hear the gentle hum of folks chatting, silverware clinking, and the friendly greetings from our staff. The buffet line is always bustling with choices, and the sun usually streams in, making everything feel bright and welcoming. It's a place where you can relax, feel at home, and just enjoy good food.
Breakfast buffet
Getting to us from Madison is a straight shot, really. Just hop on US-220 South and head towards Eden. You'll be with us in about 18 minutes, give or take if you catch the school buses. Once you hit the Eden city limits, you'll pass a few landmarks. We're right on S Van Buren Rd, just past the Food Lion and Tractor Supply, on your right. Most folks from Madison come in for our lunch buffet around noon, or for dinner on a Friday night, but if you're looking to beat the rush, the breakfast crowd thins out by 9:30 AM most weekdays. It's an easy drive, no tricky turns, and worth it for a plate of something delicious.
From Madison, the drive's quick, so you've got options. Our breakfast buffet runs Sunday-Friday from 7 AM to 11 AM, and until 1 PM on Saturdays, so an early start means you'll beat the church crowd. The lunch buffet, a real favorite, is served Sunday-Friday from 11 AM to 3 PM. We don't do a dinner buffet, but our full menu is available all day. If you're looking to avoid any wait, weekdays after 1:30 PM for lunch or before 6 PM for dinner are usually pretty calm. Parking is always free in our lot, and we welcome walk-ins for smaller tables. If you're bringing a big group, say eight or more, it’s always a good idea to give us a call ahead of time.
Since you're making the quick trip over from Madison, why not make a half-day of it? Eden's got some peaceful spots worth seeing. The Smith River and the Dan River meet right here, offering some beautiful views and easy access if you like to fish or just enjoy nature. Freedom Park is a nice place for a stroll. Our town itself has a rich history, formed by the merger of Leaksville, Spray, and Draper back in '67, and you can still see some of that historic mill town character in the old buildings and streets. It's a quiet, friendly town, and there's usually a local event or two happening on the weekends. A good meal with us, then a little exploring around Eden, makes for a nice outing.
Homemade cobbler
We've been serving folks in Rockingham County since 2001, and we'd be truly pleased to have you join us from Madison. We’re not fancy, but we promise a real, hearty meal that tastes like home. Come on over, your table’s waiting.
