The Sirloin House
It's about an hour's drive from Mebane, but folks say it's worth the trip for our Southern cooking. Come find your new favorite plate with us.
If you're making your way from Mebane, maybe after dropping folks off at Tanger Outlets or running errands near I-40, we'd be tickled pink to see you. We know it's a bit of a drive, but folks tell us it’s like coming home once they step through our doors. For over two decades, families have been traveling to Eden for our hand-cut steaks, cooked just right on the flat top, or a big plate of our Fresh Fried Chicken. We're a family place, through and through, where the plates are generous and the sweet tea is always flowing. We believe in good food made from scratch, like our cobblers that get baked at 4 AM every morning. So, if you're looking for a Sunday dinner that feels special or a weekday lunch that hits the spot, we hope you'll consider the short trip up here. Let's talk about what makes that drive worthwhile.
The kitchen, midweek

When you walk in, you'll feel that easy, familiar Southern diner vibe right away. There's usually a friendly buzz of conversation, the clatter of plates, and the smell of whatever's fresh out of the kitchen. Our dining room is set up with comfy booths and tables, perfect for families or a quiet meal for two. You'll see folks lining up for the buffet or chatting over their coffee. It's not fancy, just real and welcoming. We like to think of it as a place where you can relax, feel at home, and enjoy a good meal without any fuss.

Getting to us from Mebane is pretty straightforward. You'll hop on I-40 West for a stretch, heading towards Burlington. Then you'll take Exit 148 for NC-119 North. That road will take you through some pretty countryside, past a few smaller towns. You'll merge onto US-29 North, and from there, it's a straight shot into Eden. Keep an eye out for the signs for Eden as you get closer; we're right off the main road, easy to spot. Most folks coming from your neck of the woods time it for our lunch buffet around noon, or for an early dinner to miss the traffic heading back. The drive usually takes about 55 minutes, depending on the time of day and how quick you are on the road.
Considering the 55-minute drive from Mebane, most folks find coming for our lunch buffet (Sunday-Friday, 11 AM - 3 PM) works out nicely. It's a great way to make a half-day trip out of it. If you're an early bird, our breakfast buffet runs Sunday-Friday 7 AM - 11 AM, and Saturday 7 AM - 1 PM. We don't have a dinner buffet, but our full menu is available all day. Parking is free and right at the building, so you won't have to hunt for a spot. We always welcome walk-ins for smaller tables. If you're planning on bringing a large party, say eight or more, just give us a call ahead of time at 336-623-7778 so we can make sure to have a table ready for you.
If you're making the drive from Mebane, there's more to Eden than just our good cooking! Eden sits right where the Smith River and Dan River meet, so there are some pretty spots for walking or just enjoying the water, especially at Freedom Park. Our town has a rich history, formed by the merger of three old mill towns — Leaksville, Spray, and Draper — back in '67. You can still see some of that historic mill town character if you take a little drive around. It's a quiet, friendly town, perfect for a relaxed afternoon. You could grab lunch with us, then take a stroll by the river or just enjoy the slower pace before heading back to Mebane.
