The Sirloin House
It's just a quick drive south on US-29, about 30 minutes from your neck of the woods, to find real Southern cooking right here in Eden, NC.
If you're making your way down US-29 from Danville, perhaps after a visit to the Science Center or enjoying the Dan River, you're not far from a good, honest meal. Folks have been coming from up your way for years to find a taste of home cooking that's getting harder to find. We hear a lot of y'all miss that dependable, hearty breakfast or a lunch buffet that changes every day but always hits the spot. We've been open since 2001, and we pride ourselves on those hand-cut steaks cooked right on the flat top, or our Fresh Fried Chicken that reminds you of Grandma's kitchen. It's the kind of place where you can relax, fill up, and feel like part of the family. Let us tell you a little more about what makes the drive worth it.
The kitchen, midweek

When you walk through our doors, you'll feel that easy, Southern welcome. The dining room has a mix of comfortable booths and tables, usually buzzing with friendly chatter. You'll hear the clinking of plates from the buffet line, the soft hum of conversation, and maybe the sizzle from the kitchen. Mornings have that warm smell of coffee and bacon, while lunchtime brings the aromas of whatever deliciousness Joanna's cooked up for the buffet. It's a place where you can relax, whether you're catching up with family or grabbing a quiet bite.

Getting to us from Danville is about as straightforward as it gets. You'll hop on US-29 South and stay on it for about 22 miles. It's a pretty straight shot, mostly open road, so you'll be here in about half an hour. You'll drive right past the Virginia-North Carolina state line without much fuss, and then just keep an eye out for the Eden exits. Take the NC-14 S exit toward Eden, then turn right on S Van Buren Rd. Our place will be on your right. Most folks from Danville seem to time it for our lunch buffet, which really gets going around 11:30 AM, or for an early dinner. If you're coming for breakfast, the big rush is usually between 8 AM and 9 AM on weekends, but it thins out nicely after that.
Since you're about 30 minutes away, timing your visit can make all the difference. Our breakfast buffet runs Sunday-Friday from 7 AM to 11 AM, and Saturday from 7 AM to 1 PM, so a late breakfast around 10 AM on a weekday can be nice and calm. The daily lunch buffet is served Sunday-Friday from 11 AM to 3 PM – it’s a popular time, but we keep the food fresh and flowing. We don't have a dinner buffet, but our full menu is available all day. Parking is always free and right by the building. We welcome walk-ins for smaller tables, but if you're bringing a big crew from Danville, say 8 or more, it’s best to give us a call at 336-623-7778 so we can have a spot ready for you.
If you're making the trip from Danville, why not make a half-day of it? Eden's got its own charm. You can stretch your legs along the Smith River Greenway, or check out Freedom Park. Our town has a rich history, formed by the merger of Leaksville, Spray, and Draper, and you can still see glimpses of that old mill town character. It's a nice place for a walk, or just to enjoy the quiet flow of the Dan River. We're a smaller town, but there’s a peacefulness here that many folks from bigger places enjoy. It’s a good way to work up an appetite or walk off a big meal!
