The Sirloin House
It's about a 70-minute drive from Hillsborough to our family's table in Eden. Come find real Southern comfort food and a warm welcome that's worth the trip.
If you're making your way from Hillsborough, maybe after a morning browsing the shops along Churton Street or a quiet walk by the Eno River, you might be looking for a meal that feels like coming home. We hear from folks all the time that our place, The Sirloin House, is just that kind of spot. It's a little bit of a drive, sure, but we reckon it's a good one, trading the literary charm of Orange County for the grounded, friendly feel of our corner of Rockingham. People come up here for our hand-cut steaks, cooked just right on the flat top, or for a heaping plate of our Fresh Fried Chicken, crispy and seasoned like Grandma used to make. We've been serving Eden since 2001, and we'd love to share a bit of our tradition with you. Come on up and see what makes the drive so worthwhile.
The kitchen, midweek

When you walk into The Sirloin House, you'll notice it's got that comfortable, lived-in feel. There are plenty of booths and tables, usually with a good mix of families, folks on their lunch break, and friends catching up. In the mornings, you'll hear the clinking of coffee cups and friendly chatter around the breakfast buffet. For lunch and dinner, there's always a welcoming buzz. It's bright and clean, with a sense of history from all the meals shared here over the years. We keep things tidy, but it's never too fancy—just a genuine place to enjoy a good meal with good company.

The drive usually takes about 70 minutes, giving you just enough time to get hungry.
Considering the 70-minute drive from Hillsborough, most folks find coming for our lunch buffet (Sunday-Friday, 11 AM - 3 PM) works out just right, getting you back home before the evening rush. Our breakfast buffet runs Sunday-Friday from 7 AM - 11 AM and Saturday 7 AM - 1 PM. If you're looking to avoid the biggest crowds, weekday mornings after 9:30 AM or a bit later for lunch around 1:30 PM are often quieter. We don't have a dinner buffet, but our full dinner menu is available every evening. Parking is free in our lot, and we welcome walk-ins for smaller tables. While you're up here in Eden, it's worth taking a moment to explore our town. We sit right at the confluence of the Smith and Dan Rivers, and you can find some nice walking trails and fishing spots at Freedom Park. Eden itself has a rich history, formed in 1967 when the mill towns of Leaksville, Spray, and Draper merged. You can still see a lot of that old mill town character in the architecture and the friendly spirit of the folks around here. It's a nice change of pace from Hillsborough, offering a glimpse into a different part of North Carolina's story. You could easily make a half-day trip out of it — a good meal with us, then a stroll along the river or a drive through the historic areas.
